Three Things to Know About the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
November 21 2019, Century Auto Group
Completely redesigned this year, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe represents the fourth generation of the Korean automaker's popular midsize SUV. Enhanced at every level, the Santa Fe includes everything you love about the past generations along with a wide range of improvements.
It’s still fun to drive, versatile, and has an upscale interior with an easy-to-use multimedia system. That being said, it has been improved on many levels and is now even more welcoming, efficient, and versatile.
An Extended Wheelbase and More Space in the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
With a wheelbase that's up to 65 mm, you’re getting more space in the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. In fact, the trunk offers 1,016 litres of space with all the seats in place, which can be increased to 2,019 litres by lowering the rear seats.
The higher driving position at the front makes it easy to see the road and everything around you, which is a benefit for many. Even if you're tall, you'll also have no trouble getting into the back of the Santa Fe thanks to more accommodating legroom.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Santa Fe offers two engines. The first is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder that develops 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available in FWD only and according to Hyundai, only 20% of buyers will choose this engine.
The most popular engine in the range will likely be the four-cylinder turbo that offers 235 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It only requires an additional $2,000, can be paired with all-wheel drive, and offers a much more dynamic and engaging drive. With the turbo engine, the Santa Fe offers impressive acceleration with a fairly low average fuel consumption for an SUV of this size.
